Game Testing Service
Due to significant growth in the downloadable games industry, quality standards for games have risen. Game testing has already became an essential part of the game development process.
Most independent game developers cannot afford a dedicated team of testers, so they have to rely on volunteer testers (in most cases, gamers). Unfortunately, the results of such testing are often disappointing: volunteers simply don't have any experience in the technical side of game development and they are unfamiliar with current industry trends, content design and usability standards.
We have the advantage of more than 5 years of game development experience. Our knowledge of every aspect of game development lets us provide our clients with a professional and reliable game testing service.
Compatibility and Performance Testing
The core of our service is compatibility and performance testing. Unstable performance or game crashes always lead to missed sales. By testing your game for compatibility and performance we will help you to clearly define system requirements, and most importantly we'll help you to find hardware-related bugs and glitches that will lead to a broader range of supported system configurations.
How we test:
We spend 10 minutes of testing on each configuration of each computer and our standard actions are:
- Playing the first level/game mode for 5 minutes.
- Checking the performance in full-screen and windowed modes.
- "Fool-proofing" of options and secondary menu screens.
- Making screenshots of any hardware-related graphical glitches.
This is only our standard testing algorithm and you may provide us with custom testing instructions.
We provide our clients with free retests (according to the chosen plan) on those configurations where any hardware-related problems were detected.
Quality Assurance
Quality assurance should be included in the development process of any game. We will help you to make your game look more professional and polished.
Our quality assurance service is far more than just playing your game like volunteer gamers would do. We will play, test, and analyze your game for (but not limited to):
- Technical bugs. We document each bug along with a possible way to reproduce it and provide our clients with support materials such as screenshots and video capture.
- Gameplay issues. We search for and document any gameplay imbalances and exploits.
- Design problems. We examine the game's content for graphical and sound glitches.
- Usability issues. We check the game's interface and controls.
As with compatibility and performance testing, you may provide us with any additional recommendations and instructions on how to test your game.
Hardware and Software
Currently we have 12 diversified systems with CPUs ranging from Pentium3 Celeron to Pentium D. We collected a broad range of videocards from NVIDIA, ATI and other manufacturers along with the integrated ones. Each computer has one or more software configurations based on several operating systems, from Windows 98 to Windows Vista, with carefully chosen device drivers.
We're constantly working on adding new actual system configurations to our hardware base.
